Welcome Mayumi Lashbrook as Artistic Producer & Curator of PVD 2024!

We are thrilled to kickoff the new year with some exciting news about this year's Porch View Dances 2024. We are delighted to announce that Mayumi Lashbrook has joined us as the new Artistic Producer & Curator for this year's festival, which will take place July 17-21, 2024. Mayumi brings a wealth of experience and a fresh perspective to the role, and we couldn't be more excited to have her on board.

About Mayumi Lashbrook: Mayumi Lashbrook (she/her) is a Japanese Canadian settler who seeks to expose, challenge, and rectify systems of oppression by creating innovative, introspective and inclusive dance theatre. Her primary practices span performance, choreography, facilitation, and Artistic Direction. She is the Artistic Director of Aeris Körper and has choreographed for Dusk Dances, Guelph Dance, and CanAsian Dance. In her leadership, Mayumi endeavours for an equilibrium of artistic excellence and compassionate care.

As we embark on this artistic journey with Mayumi at the artistic helm, in collaboration with Karen and Allen, we invite you to join us in celebrating the creativity and community engagement that Porch View Dances has become known for. Mayumi's leadership lens promises to bring new illumination to PVD, initiating unforgettable moments that resonate with our community.
