Karen and Allen Kaeja will share their collaborative approach of listening, creating and inspired moving together. Investigating gesture and movement infused by identity and meaning, the workshop is fuelled by imagery and physical gesture, in and out of contact, as a generative and wholesome experience. Participants personal material will serve as kindling for the creative fire. Karen and Allen draw on 40 years of practice in improvisation, contact dance and professional creation with dancers and non-pro community movers. All are welcome. More details and register here.

Join CinnaMoon Collective for contemporary movement workshops designed to help you expand your unique voice through dance.

Nickeshia Garrick & Irma Villafuerte are offering 2 youth-centred workshops (15-18) and 2 adult-centred workshops (Dancers and movers 19+) for a pay-what-you-can fee.

Also, witness the first double-bill of the dance Immersion season, featuring the world premiere of Surrendered Spirits by CinnaMoon Collective and MÀSCARA an expanded work Pulga Muchochoma! KAEJA CREATIVE INTENSIVE - KINDLING THE CREATIVE FIRE

During this two day dance making intensive, current investigations by each of the Kaeja's will be shared through their collaborative approach of listening, creating and inspiration.

Together, the participants will build a scored work with Karen and Allen, devising ensemble physical engagement and harnessing kinetic partnering, sensorial and theatrical investigations. Participants personal material will serve as kindling for the creative fire.

The intensive will culminate in a public sharing of the ensemble’s creation.

All are welcome who are pre and professional dancers, individuals having related physical training or movement practice, plus a thirst for partnering, investigation and the creative process are encouraged to register!

Taught by internationally recognized, award-winning choreographer and dance film director Allen Kaeja, The Art of Flying is the first of 3 levels of certification for Kaeja Elevations® (KE), an approach to partnering where participants from all experience levels are on an equal playing field. Join Allen Kaeja as he teaches Kaeja Elevations®(KE)! KE is an approach to partnering where all genders, experience and physique are on a level playing field. Rooted in contact improvisation, KE relies on the architectural structure of two bodies interacting while complimented by gravity, momentum, propulsion, breath and flow.⁠ Once qualified, you will be an independently certified KE: Level One practitioner able to teach movers of all ages to work collectively to safely soar through the air and surpass their own expectations.
