Flock Landing

Flock Landing invites hundreds of people through movement that is organically driven, uniting our desire to incorporate a sensory and moving ensemble experience. Now on our 74th Flock Landing, Karen’s vision of Flock Landing first paved its way in 2007 and 2008 for Nuit Blanche at Casa Loma Stables. Since then it has appeared at the Guelph Dance Festival, In Case of Fire, and as the finale for 5 years of Porch View Dances, The Canada Dance Festival, at Downtown Dances Moncton and continues to appear in parks and street festivals around Toronto.

Downtown Dances: Moncton, Real People Dancing in Real Spaces, August 18, 2016

Together with the Altantic Ballet Theatre of Canada, Kaeja d'Dance undertook an artistic intervention to re-introduce the citizens of Moncton to their downtown and to image what the downtown core of the future can be. Inspired by Porch View Dances, Just Dance J/F and Kaeja's community engagement work, Atlantic Ballet Theatre of Canada partnered with us on this creative journey.

Downtown Dances reintroduced the community to the downtown in a completely new way through dance; envisioning the businesses and the downtown core as a vibrant, living creative entity rich with the stories of the 30 businesses, 80 employees/owners, the Mayor and City council, to re-imagine their downtown core through dance.people who work there every day.

ReGeneration: Etobicoke Dances at Montgomery's Inn, September 24-25, 2016

ReGeneration was presented in community partnership with: Montgomery’s Inn, Arts Etobicoke, Lakeshore Arts, The Music Studio, Creative Village, and Village of Islington BIA.

Kaeja d’Dance returned Montgomery’s Inn with a community dance performance that re-imagined the history of Montgomery’s Inn through dance, live music and art. Every day residents of Etobicoke were paired with professional choreographers to create new dance works that were performed in various rooms throughout the Inn. Also featured Keaja d'Dance company dancers, students of Etobicoke School of the Arts and The Music Studio, and artists from Creative Village. ReGeneration is a wonderful celebration of community and a moving reminder that dance and art is for everyone!
